During 8 days of the festival, Sanitation 360 installed 4 cabins of dry toilets next to the food area. Sanitation 360 offers a solution for the collection of urine, basically a portable toilet which has a lot of similarities with regular ones. And also, a programme for information and volunteers to add value around the collection itself. As always with the placement of toilets in general and portable toilets in particular, there are challenges with the location of such uses in the festival area. A suitable placement was found which could facilitate both the regular use and the informational side of the activity, and we could proceed to add Sanitation 360 to the programme..

First contact and start of planning phase with Sanitation 360
Preparation
Malmöfestivalen provided the festival site and production planning for the duration of the festival. Since the pilot is part of the whole logistics of the festival, it is important to ensure that the pilot works well within.
Execution
Since it was a pilot, the collection of urine was a separate system provided by Sanitation 360. Collected on-site at a storage facility and then transported to the granulation site by truck. Promotional material on-site was provided by Sanitation 360, as well as personnel interacting with visitors 1 h per day.
Evaluation
Information on the educational aspect worked well. For piloting reasons, a truck had to go to the area to collect the separate system for collecting the urine. Be aware of that.

The granulation side could be located next to Malmö to make transport worth it or work on usage abilities without granulation.
